After talking to Marcus, I needed a drink desperately. With Marcus giving me the background story on Breona and their true relationship, it made sense why she started brushing me off as soon as I moved back to California. It was one thing to sleep with a woman that slept with your brother, but it was hard as hell to accept that there was a possibility that I passed the virus to my brother, Breona, and now from what I was told a baby too.

Dealing with being a possibility that I may be the father of her child was bugging me out. Although there was only one time that I could remember we had a scare, I prayed that my boys didn’t win that race. I never wanted any kids. I couldn’t even take care of myself. The due date Marcus told me matched the timeframe of the last time her and I had sex before I went back to Vegas.

I dreaded having to talk to her about being exposed, but that was the right thing to do. I needed to finally be responsible for my actions. After driving around for a while, I found myself at T’s Bar and Lounge. I needed the liquid courage to talk to her.

It was bad enough she had issues with people coming over her house without being invited, so I would already be walking into her having an attitude once I got there. With her ignoring my calls, I didn’t have much of a choice.

I sat there and chugged on a few beers as I thought about my life and how I needed to get my shit together. Everything was falling apart and it seemed like my life choices were dragging me down the rabbit hole. I was definitely making some changes, and talking to Breona was the start I was ready to hit head on.

I cut myself off once I felt buzzed and I got all the courage that I could before I was too wasted to drive. All I wanted to do was get this over with since nothing about this was going to be smooth.

Once I finally arrived at her house, I sat in the car for a long time. As I silently gave myself a pep talk, I thought about Marcus’ offer to come along with me. I didn’t think it was a good idea since I didn’t want it to seem confrontational with the both of us being there.

As I dragged my feet towards her front door, I felt like I was walking to an electric chair. I had no idea how she was going to take this news but I knew it wasn’t going to go well. Before I could knock on the door, I noticed that it was slightly cracked.

“Breona?” I slightly tapped on the door.

It was bad enough she wasn’t expecting me but something didn’t seem right. The door opened a little after I knocked on it. I didn’t want to barge in, but shit was all over the place.
